Bells Detached from Spokes - Mandella - 10-19-2016 As you can see from the screenshot attached, the bells detach from the spokes in my barbell stations. I've tested this with four and six bell stations, and interestingly every time I switch from interior to exterior view the angle of detachment is rotated differently. As a related question, are the bells comprising the barbell stations all treated like independent stations, with no sharing of water or other resources between bells? It seems to be in my observations, but it could just be observer error -- the values displayed tend to jump around and make it hard to compare. Running Win10 with an Nvidia 970 current drivers. RE: Bells Detached from Spokes - JoeStrout - 10-20-2016 That's a bug all right! We've seen this once or twice but weren't able to reproduce it, and I had rather hoped it was something related to older versions of the game. But I know you only started with the latest version, so that can't be it. I've filed a ticket in our PM software, and we'll see if we can get that fixed for v0.25. The bells in such a colony are separate habitat "parts" but all part of the same colony. So, they share things like air and power (presumably through pipes and cables). Water is a little different; we actually connect each building (and tree, etc.) inside to a nearby source of water (a dehumidifier or water treatment plant), so those need to be in the same hab part. That makes sense, thanks. Can you go into a little more detail on the difference between the dehumidifier and water treatment plant as far as the sim is concerned? RE: Bells Detached from Spokes - JoeStrout - 10-20-2016 At the moment, they differ mainly in their water processing rate. A dehumidifier produces 2000 liters of water per day; a water treatment plant produces 200,000. We have talked about actually modeling humidity in the air, and having the dehumidifier help reduce that, but I don't think we're actually doing that yet. |
