Self sustaining farm idea

I have seen this idea used in an indoor farm producing a million pounds of fresh herbs and veggies. At this scale with only a slight modification could be used in low or micro-G.

Looks pretty neat! I've seen aquaponics setups before, but not 3D printed — I guess we're going to see more and more things like this in the future, where primary components can be simply printed at home rather than bought at a store. This will lead to much more rapid innovation in all sorts of things, where previously the market was too small to justify investment in a production line.

Here is another variation of how it's done. The grow experiments on the ISS is derived from these. The people who took it from power hungry grow lamps to color specific LEDs are canibus farmers.
